Case Study

Culture First in Practice

A meaningful act of support for Country, heritage and future generations.

Oriental Holdings supported GKB Impact by providing ground-penetrating radar equipment to assist with cultural heritage protection, including the careful identification of areas where ancestral remains may be present.

This support helps GKB Impact strengthen its ability to care for Country, protect heritage places, develop future training capacity and carry out heritage work with greater confidence and independence.

The ceremony also reflected respect beyond words. Through the presentation of artwork, the blessing of the GPR vehicle and the presence of local civic representatives, the moment became a shared expression of goodwill, respect and cultural recognition.

For Djiljit, this story shows how trust is built in the right way — by listening first, respecting culture first and offering practical help where it is truly needed.

When culture is placed at the centre, relationships grow naturally. This creates a foundation for future development opportunities that respect Aboriginal priorities, support local enterprises and bring lasting benefit to community.
